Mrs. Geneva Lettie Wood Todd

Mrs. Geneva Lettie Wood Todd, age 88, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on Sunday morning January 5, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Carroll County VA on August 16, 1925 to the late Hillary Wood and the late Lucy Amburn Wood. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Bletch Todd; five sisters Edna Wood, Gladys Hawks, Stella Ramey, Virginia Crouse, and Carrie White; two brothers Columbus Wood and Edgar Wood; a son-in-law Eldean Bullins. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She loved to work in her garden and also loved to watch birds. Surviving are her six daughters Beulah and Vestal Robertson of Lowgap, Esdell and Wayne Brown of Dobson, Gail and Dale Brown, of Mt. Airy, Glenda and James Davis of Dobson, Jean Holyfield and Ken O'Neal of Denham Springs, La, Jackie Darrh of Lowgap; fifteen grandchildren Gray and Juanita Bullins, Michelle Bullins and Bo Puckett, Tabitha Brown and Prince Phifer, Johnny Brown, Andrea and Ken Draughn, Jonathan and Andrea Brown, Paula Brown, T.J. Brown, Elizabeth Brown, Mannie Brown, Casey and Christine Flippen, Jacob and Amber Flippen, Misty and Jake Cline, Chance Darrh, Brianna Johnson; twenty three great grandchildren; two sisters Oma Lee Goodson of Mt. Airy and Mary Faye Wilmoth of Dobson. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday January 8th at New Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Joe Atkins and Rev. Bill Spurlin will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 P.M. Her body will remain at the Moody-Davis Funeral Home until carried to the Church to lie in state 30 Min. before the services.
