Mrs. Gladys Gay Shough Cannaday

Mrs. Gladys Gay Shough Cannaday, 77, of Stuart passed away Saturday at her home. She was born in Patrick County on June 12, 1935 to the late Jacob and Ether Foley Shough. She was also preceded in death by three brothers; Ray Shough, Robert Shough and Clifford Harris. Mrs. Cannaday was a member of the Fairystone Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, she had retired from Bassett Walker and was a longtime member of New Hope Church of the Brethren
Mrs. Cannaday is survived by her husband of 62 years, Buford Cannaday of the home, a son and daughter-in-law; Leroy and Pat Cannaday of Stuart, three grandchildren; Michael and Toni Cannaday, Tony and Krystal Cannaday, Amy Priest and husband Steve, three great grandchildren; Logan and Gracie Cannaday and Braydon Priest, three sisters; Alice Hylton, Linda Prillaman and Judy Boothe all of Stuart and a brother, Richard Shough of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cannaday will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April, 30, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Rick Randall and Jack White officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of her son at 1166 Lackey Road.
