Mrs. Glenda Wood Wilkinson

Mrs. Glenda Wood Wilkinson, age 79, of Stuart passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 at her home. She was born in Patrick County on Dec. 8, 1935 to the late Murray and Lillian Cockram Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wilkinson. Mrs. Wilkinson graduated from Averett College; retired from Sun Trust after many years; and volunteered at The Landmark Center. She was a member of Nettle Ridge United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Ricky Blackmon of Erwin, NC, Julie and Larry Scaletta of Ridgeway; one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Lisa Wilkinson of Critz; six grandchildren, Joshua Blackmon and wife, Carla, Andrew Blackmon, Daniel Scaletta and wife, Lauren, Trevor Wilkinson and fiancé, Amanda Edmonds, Hannah Scaletta, Karleigh Wilkinson; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Sherman Hubbard of Stuart, Myrna and Jack Swiney of Taylorsville, NC, Cheryl Dunlap and Scott Ewald of Cleveland, TN; one brother and sister-in-law, Maynard and Jeannette Wood of Ridgeway; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Nettle Ridge United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nettle Ridge United Methodist Church c/o Willie Lawless, 2290 Mt.
