Mrs. Gloira Jean Hawks Payne

Mrs. Gloria Jean Hawks Payne, age 53 of Ararat, VA, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Payne was born in Forsyth County on November 22, 1960 to Lawrence and Myrtle Hawks. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed. Surviving are her husband, Dale Payne; a daughter, Jennifer Payne; sons, Bradley Payne and Chad Payne; one grandchild; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Elvin McMillian, Angie and Sammy Combs and Jenny Snow and brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Linda Hawks and Barry and Cindy Hawks and Danny Hawks. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by sisters, Arlene Key and Peggy Hawks and by a brother, Donald Hawks. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Old Hollow Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Randy Edwards. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home.
