Mrs. Hava Iris Stanley Heath, age 95 of Claudville, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at her home. She was born in Patrick County on June 29, 1919 to the late Ernest Allen Stanley and Lucy Alma Stanley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Heath was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Heath; one grandson, David Daniel Heath; two sisters, Eula Marshall and Hazel Dunkley; and two brothers, Wilton Stanley and Winford Stanley. She was a member of Red Bank Primitive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Heath is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Gates Montgomery of Ararat; four sons and daughters-in-law, Stewart and Juanita Heath, Gary and Wilma Heath, David and Cathy Heath, all of Claudville, and Michael and Jennifer Heath of Stuart; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Guiwana Compton of Bassett and Hester and Wilbur Lynch of Mount Airy, North Carolina; one brother and sister-in-law, Ledford "Pat" and Carol Stanley of Meadows of Dan; a sister-in-law, Alda Stanley of Stuart; special cousin, Carl Burge; and special niece, Thelma Wise.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Home in Stuart with Elder Clarence Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Bank Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Red Bank Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, c/o Johnny Boles, 1137 Cox Ridge Road, Claudville, Virginia 24076.
