Mrs. Hazel Haynes Watson Johnson, 92, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Surry County on March 6, 1922 to the late John Watson and Hattie Haynes Watson Hiatt. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and was a member of Union Hill Friends Meeting. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Dallas Draughn, Jr., Brenda and Dale York all of Mt. Airy; grandchildren and spouses, Missy Whitaker and Phil, Trace Draughn and Christy, Julie Pratt and Kevin, Kevin Draughn and Amanda, Dustin York and Holly; ten great grandchildren; a half-sister, Delphia Thomas of Mt. Airy; a sister-in-law, Helen Watson of Mt. Airy; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wesley Johnson; a sister, Lois Watson; a brother, J.M. Watson, and three half-brothers,Bob, Dennis and Morris Watson; her step father, Jim Hiatt. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Union Hill Friends Meeting with the Rev. Ronald Thomas and Chaplain Justin Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Union Hill Friends Meeting. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home,945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017. Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
