Mrs. Isa Leah Luffman, age 104, of Dobson passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Dunmore Plantation. She was born in Pike County, Kentucky on September 24, 1909 to the late Patton and Alice Hylton Taylor. Mrs. Luffman was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith. Survivors include her devoted step-son Willie and wife Mona Luffman, of Mount Airy; six step-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; eight step great-great grandchildren; a step daughter-in-law, Lillian McFarin of Louisville, KY.; and several special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Luffman was preceded in death by her dear husband, Lonnie Fred Luffman, a sister, June Parsons, a brother, Creed Taylor, and a step-son, Bradford Eugene Luffman. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by the Rev. Ted Crotts with burial to follow in Roaring Gap Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Dunmore Plantation, where Leah made her home for the past seventeen years, for all their love and compassionate care.
