Mrs. Iva Dell Jackson

Mt. Airy - Iva Dell Jackson went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2014 at Golden Living Nursing Home. She was born in Patrick County Virginia on January 20, 1919 to Walter and Montoria Johnson. Iva Dell was married to Moir Jackson and they had one daughter, Judy Jackson McAuley. She retired from Spencer's Inc. but continued to keep herself busy working part-time until she was 89 years old. Her passions were gardening, decorating and preparing meals for friends and family to entertain in her home. Iva Dell was a member of the Haymore Memorial Baptist Church of Mt. Airy. She had many faithful friends and family who loved her and who continued to visit up to her death. Iva Dell loved her many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and great-grandnieces and nephews. Iva Dell was preceded in death by her husband Moir Jackson and daughter, Judy Jackson McAuley, brother's Harlow Johnson, Leonard Johnson, John D. Johnson and sisters Geneva Pruitt, Beulah Inman, Adelia Chaney. Visitation will be 1:00 pm on Tuesday at Moody Funeral Home, with the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. Her care givers; niece Ilene Boyles and nephew Daymor Inman would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice for the wonderful love and care they provided Iva Dell.
