Mrs. Ivylyn Rebecca Jarrell Swift

Mrs. Ivylyn Rebecca Jarrell Swift, 78, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on December 8, 1935 to the late, Ellard Grady and Mary Leota Vernon Jarrell. Mrs. Swift was a homemaker and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Randall Wheeler of Mt. Airy, Caroline and Brad Gwyn of Colfax; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Sue Swift, William and Brinda Swift all of Mt. Airy; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one on the way; a sister, Julie Jarrell Jones of Ruther Glenn, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, Garner and Linda Jarrell of Mt. Airy; many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Swift was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Jackson Swift; sisters, Betty Schuyler, Vera Park; brothers, Ellis, Daniel, Allen, and Tom Jarrell. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Alton Bledsoe and the Rev. Joe Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
