Mrs. Jean Harbour Belcher, age 76 of Meadows of Dan, Virginia passed away Friday evening at Pioneer Community Hospital of Patrick County. She was born on January 19, 1936 in Patrick County to the late Edmond Harbour and Lelia Midkiff Harbour. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Giles McPeak and Paul Lucas Belcher; a step-grandson, Keenan Dewell, a step great granddaughter, Ashley Martin and a step great grandson, Jesse Sheppard. Mrs. Belcher had retired from J.P. Stevens after 42 years of service and had attended Harris Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a very loving and caring person, who truly enjoyed traveling.
Mrs. Belcher is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Cameron & Linda McPeak of Stuart, Bob & Geraldine McPeak of Stuart and Timmy & Sherry McPeak of Stuart; three step-daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia & Paul Dewell of Cary, NC, Kimberly & George Craft of Winchester, VA and Leigh Belcher of Willis, VA, sixteen step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Judy Hazelwood of Stuart and Nancy & Gary Griffith of Woolwine and a special friend, Tammy Hale of Willis, VA.
Funeral services for Mrs. Belcher will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 2:00pm at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Marcus Wood and Rev. Jim Churchwell officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Belcher Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations should be made to Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, 22099 Jeb Stuart Hwy., Stuart, VA 24171.
