Mrs. Jewel Raye Flynn Draughn

Mrs. Jewel Raye Flynn Draughn, age 77, of Dobson, NC passed away on Tuesday May 31, 2016 at Central Continuing Care Nursing Home in Mt. Airy. She was born in Surry Co. on August 10, 1938 to the late Loyd and Maggie Brown Flynn. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Draughn; one sister Carolyn Flynn Sharpe; one brother Floyd William “Junior” Flynn; one sister-in-law Louise Draughn.She was a member of New Home Church of Christ and was a retired seamstress and homemaker. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Barry Bottoms of Roanoke, VA; three sons and daughters-in-law David and Cindi Draughn of Statesboro, GA, Winford and Annette Draughn of Mt. Airy, Ralph and Frances Draughn of Pinnacle; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister Virginia Taylor of Carrie; a special sister-in-law Fern Draughn of Dobson. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Friday June 3, 2016 in the cemetery of New Home Church of Christ. Brother Tim Smith will officiate the service. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the New Home Church of Christ Youth Group New Home Church of Christ Rd. Dobson, NC 27017.
