Mrs. Joy Mae York Jones

Mrs. Joy Mae York Jones, age 74, of Blue Ridge Nursing Center, Stuart, VA, widow of Mr. William Jones, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014, at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart, VA. She was born February 12, 1940, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Charlie and Mazie Surratt York. Mrs. Jones was an avid gardner, homemaker, and a friend to all. She was a member of Fellowship Tabernacle. Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Patino of Lambsburg, VA; a son, Edward Howard Jones of Lambsburg, VA; three grandchildren, Nicole Patino of Greensboro, NC, Kayla Patino of Galax, VA, and Samantha Jones of Lowgap; two sisters, Lannie Lorson of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Betty Hull of Lambsburg, VA; and a brother, Frank York of Lambsburg, VA. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Edwards and four brothers, C.L. York, Alvin York, Roy York and Claude York. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 29, 2014 at Fellowship Tabernacle. The service will be conducted by Rev. Donald Bryant and Elder Arwood Edwards. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday at Fellowship Tabernacle.
