Mrs. Joyce Lee Mitchell Harrison

Mrs. Joyce Lee Mitchell Harrison, age 72 of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Harrison was born in Patrick County on September 8, 1943 to the late Abe and Agnes Fannie Dunkley Mitchell. Joyce was a homemaker and caregiver to Andy. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Mark Surratt of Mt. Airy; sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy “Randy” and Tammie Harrison of Westfield and William “Andy” Harrison of the home, grandchildren, Amanda and Reid Vernon, Tyler Harrison and Haley Harrison, great grandchildren Lynsey Vernon and Liam Vernon and by two brothers and sister-in-law Jerry and Marlene Mitchell of Ararat, NC and Jeff Mitchell of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her husband, William Andrew Harrison and by four brothers Jay, Jack, Jim and Johnny Mitchell. A graveside service will be held Saturday October 24, 2015 at 2:00 P.M.at Oakdale Cemetery with services conducted by Rev. Tommy Kingsbury. The family will receive friends Saturday at Moody Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. until time for the graveside. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Andy Harrison, 271 Burke Rd. Mt.
