Mrs. June Ella Kitts Hughes

Mrs. June Ella Kitts Hughes, age 84 of Stuart, Virginia went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Blue Ridge Nursing Center. She was born in Patrick County on February 3, 1930 to the late Vance Morton Kitts and Clara DeHart Kitts. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Akers Edgar Hughes and seven brothers, Lloyd "Lefty" Kitts, Wilford "Bill" Kitts, James "Jimmy" Kitts, Alvin Kitts, Roland Kitts, Otis Kitts and Leonard Kitts. June was a longtime member of Bouldin Memorial Presbyterian Church and devout Christian. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. To mother we say, "we will miss you more than you can know and we will see you again in Heaven"
Mrs. Hughes is survived by a son, Michael Edgar Hughes of Roanoke; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Hughes Kitts and husband, Roger of Stuart; two grandsons, Beau Justin Beasley and wife, Heather and Worth Zachary Beasley and wife, Caroline; four great grandchildren, Hannah Handy, Tyler Handy, Leah Beasley and Nora Beasley, a twin brother, Gene Kitts and wife, Peggy of Roanoke; three sisters-in-law, Helen H. Kitts of Roanoke, Maxine Kitts of Richmond and Helen Kitts of Roanoke and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 5:00pm at the Hughes Family Cemetery in Stuart with her grandson, Beau Beasley speaking. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to PAWS (Patrick Animal Welfare Society), P.O. Box 743, Stuart, VA, 24171.
