Mrs. Katherine West Eggers

Mrs. Katherine West Eggers, age 85 of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Eggers was born in Forsyth County on May 22, 1926 to Edward Franklin and Ila Katherine Grubbs West. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Eggers loved spending time with her family and her many friends she had at Wal-Mart and The Waffle House. She and her husband were previous owners of Skyline Memory Gardens. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Blackmon and husband Zack Blackmon, Jr. of Mt. Airy; a son, John Wadsworth of Charlotte; a granddaughter, Katherine Erin Haymore and husband Daniel of Rural Hall; a grandson, Zack Blackmon, III and wife Ashley of Williamsburg, VA; and a great granddaughter, Emilynn Haymore. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eggers was preceded in death by her husband Harold Berman Eggers. A service at entombment will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 2, 2012 at Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum by associate pastor Steve Ayers. The family will receive friends Monday in the Fireside Room of First Baptist Church beginning at 12:30.
