Mrs. Kathryn Lee Pope Mullen

Mrs. Kathryn Lee Pope Mullen, age 79, of Elon, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Mullen was born in Orange County on April 22, 1935 to William Lionel and Pearl June Walters Pope. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend to so many. Mrs. Mullen was retired from A T & T, Inc. Surviving is her husband, Charles H. Mullen; a son, Rik Owen of Burlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Frank Falotico of Ellwood City, PA; Sherry and Ronnie Wheeler of Mt. Airy and Bonnie Fulp of Greensboro; grandchildren, "the greatest joys of her life", Jared Owen and wife Lovae, Frank Falotico and wife, Nikki, Sara Falotico, Mark Wheeler, Aaron Wheeler, Luke Wheeler, Jillian Fulp and Molly Fulp; her "adopted" grandson, Justin Collier; a sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Charles Bennett of Emerald Isle; and her "best friends forever", Mattie and Ted Bales of Burlington. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mullen was preceded in death by a sister, June Rachel Lofton and a son-in-law, Chris Fulp. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 20, 2014 by Dr. Jon Cawley at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
