Mrs. Katie Tilley McBride

Mrs. Katie Lee McBride, age 70 of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at her home. Mrs. McBride was born in Surry County on December 29, 1944 to Ed and Myrtle Cain Tilley. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Surviving are her husband, Clyde McBride, Sr., sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Diann McBride, David McBride, Patty McBride; special grandson, Daniel McBride and fiancé, Amy Stevens, grandchildren, Abby McBride, Jeb McBride, Ashley McBride; great grandchildren, Aaron Westmoreland, Brayden McBride, Corbin McBride; step grandchildren, Aaliyah Pruitt, Phillip Mitchell, Jr., sisters and brothers-in-law, Jonie and Gary Hayden, Carol and Sonny Tolbert; brother and sisters-in-law, Raeford and Sandy Tilley and Ellen Tilley; a special brother-in-law, Jeff McBride, Jr.; and her beloved canine companion, Houch. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McBride was preceded in death by a son, Clyde “Buck” McBride, Jr.; a sister, Helen Jones and brothers, Aldine Tilley and Rex Tilley. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at McBride Family Cemetery.
