Mrs. LaRue Welch Stanley

Mrs. LaRue Welch Stanley, age 74 of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Stanley was born on April 13, 1937 in Surry County to the late George Harshel and Jessie Belton Welch. She worked at Quality Mills and later assisted her husband at Surry Hosiery before retirement. She was a devoted member of Mt. Airy Christian Church; a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah Lynn and Carter Bryant of Mt. Airy and Jackie Fulp of Kernersville; a son, Arlie Edd "Eddie" Stanley II of Roswell, GA; five grandchildren Joseph Bryant, Diane Wolfe, Jami Fulp, Alexander Stanley, Nicholas Stanley; great grandchildren, Marie Rook, Blake Wolfe and Brady Wolfe; sisters and two brothers-in-law, Margaret and Al Tolbert of Mt. Airy, Dot Clifton of Mt. Airy, Pat Kinney of Mount Holly, Jane and Lynn Cook of Mt. Airy and Nancy Welch of Lewisville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Jerri Welch of Mt. Airy and Joe and Gail Welch of Cary, NC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stanley was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Edd Stanley, sisters, Jessica Allred and Peggy Welch; brothers, Charles Randall Welch and George H. Welch, II. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Mt. Airy Christian Church by Pastor Ralph Sproles with burial to follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy will be assisting the Stanley Family.
