Mrs. Lena Snow Cockerham, age 91, of Dobson passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on August 21, 1922 to the late Thomas Houston and Neva Ann Holder Snow. Mrs. Cockerham was a retired Certified Nurses Assistant and a member of Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include her loving children, Ramona Sue Wright, of Dobson, Jan Lee Hill of Mount Airy and Danny Gralynn Cockerham of Dobson; her beloved grandchildren, Tina Susanne Inman, of Pilot Mountain, John Christopher Wright, of Alabama, Robin Lynn Lockhart, of Florida, Missie Michelle Lowry, of Burlington, Mitchell Raymond Wright, of Mount Airy and Suzanne Michelle White Hole, of Danbury; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Tommie Wilmoth, of Charlotte. In addition to her parents, her husband, Raymond Cleveland Cockerham; a daughter, Tona Lou Shockley, five sisters, Pearl Perry, Cassie Wilmoth, Thursia Riddle, Stella Wilmoth and Bernice Simmons and two brothers, Connie and Otis Snow preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday July 20, 2014 at Salem Fork Christian Church by the Rev. Zane Fishel and Rev. Austin Caviness with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday one hour prior to the funeral service. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the family.
