Mrs. Linda Ann White Johnson, age 64 of Dobson, NC spirit left this earth Wednesday, June 20, 2012, to unite with her Heavenly Father. She fought a courageous battle with fibromyalgia, breast cancer and eventually succumbed to brain cancer. She was born in Surry County on July 2, 1947 to the late Fox Monroe White and Annie Stanley White. Linda was a homemaker, wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was especially proud to have been in the first four-year graduation class of 1965's Surry Central Golden Eagles. Linda attended Surry Community College and was an inactive Real Estate Broker at the time of her death. Surviving is her husband Steven Wood Johnson of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law Sherri Johnson-Royall and husband Scott of Lewisville, NC, Stephanie Johnson Gwyn and husband Brian of Shelby, NC; She leaves behind to cherish her memories, three grandchildren Alec Mason Gwyn, Bella Hope Gwyn and Samantha Grace Fuji Royall whom Linda dearly adored, spoiled, and most of all loved with all her heart. Also surviving is a sister and brother-in-law Donna White Lupton and husband Bill, of Clyde, NC; two brothers and a sister-in-law Bruce and Betty White of Dobson and Dennis White of Rural Hall, NC. In addition, Linda leaves behind a very special niece, Denise White Tayson, as well as a very special friend and confidant Jo Ann Cockerham; Linda also cherished her four legged companion Copper. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Fairview Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Dr. Andy Atkins and Rev. Andrew Fox Lupton will conduct the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, NC Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Fairview Baptist Church C/O Tommy Edmonds, 6678 NC Hwy 268, Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care with a special thank you to nurse Flannery Heath. As well as, the Oncology department at Forsyth Hospital with gratitude to Dr. Gene Paschold whose compassion will never be forgotten by the Johnson Family. Additional appreciation to the Fairview Baptist Church congregation with Pastor Dr. Andy Atkins and the many friends whose cards, letters, food and prayers made such a difference during her struggle.
