Mrs. Linda Fay Gwyn Kirkman

Mrs. Linda Fay Gwyn Kirkman, 72 of Mt. Airy passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home on Friday, June 03, 2016. She was born in Surry County on August 8, 1943 to the late James Albert and Dorothy Carico Gwyn. Mrs. Kirkman was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and retired from Proctor Silex. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Steven Dale Kirkman, Sr. of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Marion and Leon of Mt. Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven Kirkman, Jr. and Michelle of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Samantha Wilson, Rocky Marion and Betsy M. Kirkman; great grandchildren, Christian Wilson, Morgan Wilson and Heavenly Wilson; a special foster daughter, Frankie Johnson of Elkin and several more foster children; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley Wilson and Mac of Asheboro; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Gwyn and Dorthy and Junior Gwyn and Sylvia all of Mt. Airy; special four legged friend, Dottie. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kirkman was preceded in death by brothers, Glen, Jerry “J.T.”, and Charlie Gwyn and Ray Marion. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Midkiff Family Cemetery with Rev. Benjamin Smith officiating. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
