Mrs. Lorraine Gladys McCreary Jones

Mrs. Lorraine Gladys McCreary Jones, age 73 of Cana, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. She was born in Carroll County on December 27, 1940 to the late Alonzo and Dorothy Gray McCreary. Mrs. Jones was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her devoted family and friends. Surviving are sons, Marty Jones of Cana and Scott Jones of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Meagan Jones and fiancé, Justin Friend, Evan Jones and Bryson Jones; a great granddaughter, Madeline Grace; a sister, Shirley King of Cana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Laura McCreary of Mt. Airy, Parlie and Gin McCrary of Newport News, VA, Clinton and Betty McCrary of Sacramento, CA, several special nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton McCrary. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 13, 2014 Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gray Cook and Rev. James Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy beginning at 9:00 AM.
