Mrs. Lou Jean Brindle Jackson, age 76, of State Road, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. She was born in Surry County on February 2, 1938 to the late Jasper Elmer and Stella Cave Brindle. Mrs. Jackson was a retired Delicatessen Manager from Winn-Dixie and enjoyed creating her beautiful cakes. She was a member of Salem Fork Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of thirty five years, Howard Bernard "Bernie" Jackson, of the home; her beloved daughter Jan Starr Andrews White and husband Terry Jason White, of Elkin; two sisters, Jo Brindle Goins and husband Fred of Mount Airy and Katye Brindle Simpson and husband Leonard, of Elkin; two brothers, the Rev. Van Roger Brindle and wife Faye of Dobson and Jackie Brindle and Susan of Matthews; a sister-in-law, Lessie Brindle of Pilot Mountain; several special nieces and nephews, who all loving acknowledged her as "Aunt Lou"; and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, two brothers, J.B. Brindle and Coleman Brindle preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Salem Fork Baptist Church by the Rev. Dan Merritt, the Rev. Van Brindle and Eulogist, Chris Brindle with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, one hour prior to the service.
