Mrs. Louise Boyd Bondurant

Mrs. Louise Boyd Bondurant, age 85 of Cana, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Wheatland Assisted Living. Mrs. Bondurant was born in Patrick County on April 20, 1927 to Franklin K. and Rosa Smith Boyd. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Bondurant was a member of Mount Bethel Moravian Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Joseph Blanks of Hillsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Cassie Bondurant of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Noelle Bondurant and Zach Bondurant; three step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren and a sister, Kate Hiatt of Cana. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bondurant was preceded in death by her husband, John Bondurant a grandson, Jonathan Bondurant and sisters, Ruth Ayers, Marie Haynes and Annie Susan Boyd. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 25, 2012 at Mt. Bethel Moravian Church by Rev. Charles Fishel. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Bethel Moravian Women's Fellowship c/o Gail Hiatt 150 Tri-Forks Lane, Cana, VA 24317 or to Mountain Valley Hospice at 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Wheatland Assisted Living for the loving care given to Mrs. Bondurant during her stay there.
