Mrs. Louise Clark Simpson

Louise Simpson, 84, of Rockford died Tuesday afternoon, June 23, 2015 at Novant Health Care Winston-Salem, NC. Born September 27, 1930, in Rockford she was the only child of Robert Monroe Clark and Mauzy Holyfield Clark Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of Rockford Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Odis "Dood" Simpson and a special first cousin, raised as her brother, Thomas Grady Holyfield. Together Louise and "Dood" raised five children. She was the beloved mother of Dennis (Doris) Simpson, Angela (Jerry) Hooker, and Gordon (Carolyn) Simpson, all of Dobson, Tim (Anne) Simpson of East Bend and Robin (Craig) Hamlin also of Dobson. Two grandchildren, Clark Simpson and Erin Hooker and four step grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM on Thursday evening, June 25, 2015 in the Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held in the Rockford Baptist Church Friday, June 26, 2015 at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Mitchell Robertson officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Rockford Community Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Rockford Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 4947 Rockford Road, Dobson, NC Attention of Eddie Shore, Woltz Hospice Home of Dobson or the donor's choice of charitable organizations.
