Mrs. Lucy Jane Anderson

Lucy Jane Anderson, age 91, died November 25, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC.

A lifelong resident of Patrick County, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Handy Anderson; two grandchildren, Regina Ruth Anderson and Matthew James Jackson Anderson; a son-in-law, Paul S. Davis, Jr.; and her brother, Alexander Elbert Thomas, Jr. She was the daughter of the late Alexander Elbert Thomas, Sr. and the late Josie Gunter Thomas.

Mrs. Anderson and her husband owned and operated Anderson's Floral Garden and Flower Shop for 29 years until she retired. She was a faithful believer of the Primitive Baptist Faith and is a member of Dobyns Primitive Baptist Church.

She is survived by three children, James (Jimmy) A. F. Anderson and wife Suzanne of Imlay City, MI; Judy A. Davis of Ridgeway; and Gary N. Anderson of Stuart; two grandchildren, Paul S. Davis, III and wife Katrinka of Ridgeway and Teresa D. Queen and husband Wesley of Ridgeway; and one great granddaughter, Katrina J. Anderson of Imlay City, MI.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elders Donnie Conner, Edward Bowman, Lewis Vass, and Tim McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
