Mrs. Lucy Mae Turner Shelton

Mrs. Lucy Mae Wright Turner Shelton, age 96 of Patrick Springs, Virginia passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. She was born on October 8, 1915 in Patrick County to the late George Wright and Ellie Adams Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband William Smith Turner; two sons; Curtis Turner and James Monroe Turner, two grandchildren, Robin Dunford and Chris Stultz and seven brothers, Raymond, Ray, Dewey, Dan, Akers, Alvin, and Diary Wright. She had retired from Fieldcrest Mills with 40 years of service and was a longtime member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Mrs. Turner is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Chester & Joan Turner of Patrick Springs; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley & Bobby Adams of Patrick Springs and Eva Manning of Bassett; six grandchildren; Curtis Adams, Michelle Adams, Joyce Waller, Darrell Ratliff, John Stultz and Smith Turner; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Turner will be held on Tuesday June 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Anderson officiating. The burial will immediately follow in the Wright Family Cemetery located on Egg Farm Road. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the church and other times at the home of Chester Turner on Egg Farm Road. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church Building Fund, 4432 Pleasant View Drive, Patrick Springs, VA 24133 Moody Funeral Services of Stuart has been entrusted with the arrangements.
