Mrs. Mabel Corn

Mrs. Mabel F. Corn, widow of Reverend Dewey Preston Corn, entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, February 6 at Forsyth Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Corn was a dedicated pastor's wife and mother. She retired from Northern Hospital of Surry County where she worked in the newborn nursery. She was a member of the Mount Airy Church of God and served with her husband in the nursing home ministry at Central Continuing Care. Survivors include a son, Robert Preston Corn and wife Frances of Mount Airy, three daughters, Hilmer Cummings of the home, Sherry Pyles and husband Reverend Luke Pyles of Mount Airy, and April Corn and special friend, Arnold Nunn of Mount Airy. Grandchildren are Darren Corn and wife Valeria, Dana Burchel and husband Jim, Amanda Hawks and husband Sparky, and Melanie Pyles. Great grandchildren are Amber Shepherd and husband Greg, Bryant Cox, Sierra Cox, Mason Corn, Emilee Corn, Abbi Burchel and fiancé Jason Ledbetter, Jacob Burchel, Ashley Burchel, and Jenna Hawks. Great-great grandchildren are Lindsay Owens, Hailey Owens, Natalie Ledbetter, and Levi Corn. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday, February 9, at the Mount Airy Church of God. Interment will follow at Midkiff Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2 pm at the church. The service will be conducted by Reverend Charles Powers, Reverend Homer Lowdermilk, Reverend Luke Pyles, and Reverend Robbie Sizemore. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to The Gideons International Bible Ministry. Moody's Funeral Service is serving the family.
