Mrs. Maggie Jean Hawks Jones

Mrs. Maggie Jean Hawks Jones, 78, of Cana, VA passed away at her home Saturday, September 17, 2016. She was born in Carroll County, VA on May 25, 1938 to the late Andrew Jackson and Myrtle Mae Edwards Hawks. After retirement from Kentucky Derby, Mrs. Jones enjoyed time with her family and working in her flowers. She is survived by her husband, Odell Jones; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Daryl and Charlene Jones, James and Ritha Jones, Keith Jones, Randall and Jennifer Jones and Kevin and Diana Jones; grandchildren and spouses, Chasity and Mike Merrell, Courtney Blackburn, Jared Jones, Justin and Courtney White, Jesse Jones, Annie Belton, Chase Jones, Caroline and Brandon Kendrick, Matthew Jones, Steven Jones, Caitlin Jones and Avery Jones; great grandchildren, Alex Cruz, Logan Jones, Christian Cruz, Gracie Belton, Weston Jones, Josh Belton and Brody Merrell; two sisters, Colleen Hiatt and Connie Galyean; three brothers, Ronnie Hawks, Otto Hawks and Bobby Hawks. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by four brothers, Landon Edwards, Sterlin Edwards, Ray Hawks and Joe Hawks. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Moody Funeral Homes Chapel with Rev. Tony Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the Marion Family Cemetery.
