Mrs. Margaret Louise Sams Hicks

Mrs. Margaret Louise Sams Hicks, age 88, of Pilot Mountain, NC passed away at her home on Saturday evening. She was born in Stokes County on May 27, 1925 to the late Thomas Bryant Sams and the late Safaroni Lillian Tilley Sams. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Dillard Hicks; two brothers Thomas Howard Sams, and Marvin Eugene Sams; one grandson Jason Hicks. Mrs. Hicks was retired from Pilot Mountain Hosiery Mill and was a member of Friendly Chapel Independent Baptist Church. Surviving are her two daughters and son-in-law Sue and Tony Wall of Mt. Airy, Sandra Throckmorton of Madison, NC; two sons and daughters-in-law Brother Junior and Frances Hicks of Siloam, James and Ann Hicks of Mt. Airy; ten grandchildren Michael Hicks, Scott Hicks, Brian Hicks, Travis Hicks, James Hicks Jr., Jamey Hudson, Rebecca Hicks, Ellis Hicks, Tony Wall Jr., and Jeff Wall; twenty three great grandchildren; one sister Della Mozelle Newsome of Pilot Mountain; a special niece Lynn and Steven Whitaker of Lowgap. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday May 27, 2014 at Friendly Chapel Independent Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Brother Don Collins will conduct the services. The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 27, 2014 at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. The family would like to give a special thank you to Mountain Valley Hospice of Pilot Mountain for the love and care given to their mother. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Hicks family.
