Mrs. Margaret Coalson Thomas

Mrs. Margaret Coalson Thomas age 72 of 2458 Pine Ridge Road, Mt. Airy, NC widow of Mr. Brisco Thomas passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born November 11, 1941 in Surry County to the late Jesse and Eleanor Lowe Coalson. She was former co-owner of Odell's Sandwich Shop and Riverside Restaurant and had worked at the Lantern Restaurant before retiring in 2013. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Todd Tilley of King, a step grandaughter, Amanda Tilley of Raeford, a step grandson, Adam Tilley of Princeton, WV, and two step great grandchildren, Riley Keen and Luke Tilley, two sisters and two brothers in-law, Shelby and Weldon Taylor of Mt. Airy and Patricia "Pat" Coalson of Mt. Airy and Ray Clifton of Mt. Airy. a niece and husband, Shannon and Nelson Snow of Lowgap and a great nephew, Jacob Snow of Lowgap. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Coalson Clifton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Rev. Adam Tilley and Rev. Joe Atkins. Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday at Moody Funeral Home.
