Mrs. Margie Elizabeth Fulk McCreary

Mrs. Margie Elizabeth Fulk McCreary age 89, widow of James Clarence McCreary, of Mt. Airy, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 20, 2015, at the Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. McCreary was born in Patrick County on September 7, 1926 to John William and Surilda Gabrielle Booth Fulk. Mrs. McCreary was a lifetime member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church and had worked for several years in the cafeteria at J. Sam Gentry Middle School. Mrs. McCreary is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, James Donald McCreary and Tiwi, Roger Alan McCreary and Debbie, Stephen David McCreary and Deborah, and Dean John McCreary and Carlean all of Mt. Airy; ten grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Sylvia Thornton. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. McCreary was preceded in death by her twin children, Michael Lee and Mary Elizabeth McCreary; and by ten brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Mount Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight Sechrist officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Tuesday night, September 22, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her personal care givers, the staff at Central Continuing Care, and to the staff at Woltz Hospice Home for the love and care that they gave to Mrs. McCreary during her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
