Mrs. Margie Tilley Vaughn

Mrs. Margie Marilyn Tilley Vaughn, age 75 of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Vaughn was born in Carroll County on July 14, 1938 to Paul and Lessie Easter Tilley. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed. Surviving are daughters and a son-in-law, Sheila and Jimmy Gregory, Pamela McKenzie and Paula Vaughn all of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Jamie Sardler and husband Scotty, SPC Christopher J. Gregory and wife Andria and Shauna McKenzie, great grandchildren, Carigon Dycus, Haylee Dycus, Natasha Sardler and Adia, Jaylin and Ellen Gregory; sisters, Marie Cooke of King and Anna Ruth Rakes of Cana, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Burney and Edith Tilley of Cana and James and Betty Tilley of Galax; a special caregiver, Lisa Phipps and her special cat Sassy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Magdalene Jones, Pauline Dowell, Pernie Mae Campbell, Clara Towe and Gladys Tilley and by a brother, Clinton Tilley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 23, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Zane Fishel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at 141 Chatham Road.
