Mrs. Marilyn Sue Archer

Mrs. Marilyn Sue Archer, age 68, of Patrick Springs, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016. She was born in Sidney, OH on July 24, 1947 to the late James and Kathleen Garlow Reisinger. She was married to Denford “Denny” Floyd Archer, the love of her life, for 42 years. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2015. She was also preceded in death by two half-sisters, Mrs. Roger (Janet) Aschenbach and Mrs. James (Betty) Brentlinger. Mrs. Archer worked over 30 years for United Elastic and then became a hairdresser where she worked at Curls & Colors in Patrick Springs before retiring. In addition, Marilyn managed the widely known charitable gospel singing group, the Southern Prophets, founded by her husband. She was a member of New Life Community Fellowship Church in Stuart.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Vanessa DuPuy of Duff, TN and her cousin, Mary Ann Settlemire of Washington, D.C., as well as a host of extended family and friends, and her beloved Beagle, Sandyman.

Funeral services will be held at Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 at 2 PM at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.
