Mrs. Martha Wood Key

Mrs. Martha Jean Wood Key, age 70, of Dobson passed away on January 21, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Surry County on May 24, 1943 to the late Ruben and Bertha Childress Wood. Mrs. Key was a retired Inspector from Proctor-Silex Corporation after 31 years of service. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Martha devoted her life to her family and serving her Lord and Savior. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter Robin Poteat and Scott Harris of Mount Airy, her beloved grandchildren, Jackson Poteat, Brandie and husband Zach Slate and Aleicia Wyrick and husband Kevin; two great-grandchildren, Ava Slate and Liam Wyrick; and a very special sister, Shelby Wood, of Dobson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby "Pete" Key. Her funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, January 24, 2014 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by the Rev. Randy Parrish with burial to follow in the Rockford Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday January 23, 2014.
