Mrs. Martha Ethelean Largen

Mrs. Martha Ethelean Largen, age 82 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Laurel Meadows Nursing Home in Laurel Fork. She was born in Floyd County on May 28, 1933 to the late Chris and Goldie Thompson McAlexander. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Largen was preceded in death by one sister, Elois Hall. She was a lifetime member of Parkway Church of the Brethren. She was an avid gardener and babysat for numerous families in the community.

Mrs. Largen is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lloyd Glenn Largen of the home; three sons, Harvey Largen and wife, Therese Haugh Largen of Roanoke, Lewis Largen and wife, Nancy of Meadows of Dan, Carlton Largen and wife, Barbara of Meadows of Dan; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Maytrus Self of Warsaw, VA; and one brother, Calvin McAlexander of Meadows of Dan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Granville Bishop and Pastor Howard Nester officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
