Mrs. Martha Irene Smith

Mrs. Martha Irene Smith, 60, of Ararat, VA passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Patrick County on February 22, 1952 to the late Joe and Effie Hawks Smith. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marti and Jason Harris of Ararat, VA; two granddaughters, Morgan and Miranda Jo Goins both of Ararat, VA; two sisters, Helen Norman of Mt. Airy, Yvonne Mabe of Ararat, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Geraldine Smith of Ararat, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by three brothers, Claude, Buford and Willie Smith. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 11, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Willis Gap Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
