Mrs. Mary Kathleen Barr Ayers

Mrs. Mary Kathleen Barr Ayers, 57 of Cana, VA passed away at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Mrs. Ayers was born in Carroll County, VA on August 7, 1954 to the late Floyd Arthur and Emily Jane Haynes Barr. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Emily Kathleen and Herbert Haynes of Cana, Angela Lynn and Sam Lanier of Mt. Airy; a son, Clayton Barr and fiancée, Jaclyn Lawson of Galax; grandchildren, Daniel Conrad Haynes, Stephen Ray Haynes, Zachariah Jensen Haynes, Gabriel Zeid Lanier, Nicholaus Brayden Lanier and Baeleigh Grace Barr; five sisters, Mary Jane Holt of Pinnacle, Ida Belle Quesenberry of Galax, Iona Bostic, Lula Sapp, Nancy Crotts all of Mt. Airy; two brothers, Robert Lee Barr of Cana and Walt Barr of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Guynn and a brother, John Barr. The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Ayers daughter Angela, 281 Cherokee Trail, Mt. Airy on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
