Mrs. Mary Easter Franklin

Mrs. Mary Easter Franklin, 79 of Mt. Airy passed away at her home on Saturday, November 01, 2014. She was born in Surry County on February 3, 1935 to the late Delia Easter Branson. Mrs. Franklin was a home maker and a dedicated member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother, always taking care of others as long as her health permitted. Left to cherish her memories are, three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Money and husband, Mike, Frances Pruitt, Sherri Lyons and husband, Freddie; a son, Lewis Franklin and girlfriend, Kathy Nichols; grandchildren, Sara Daus, Breanna Pruitt, Benji Hiatt and wife, Rhonda, Stephanie Winslow and husband, Heath, Sheena Clifton and husband, Lee and Shasta Holder and husband, Randy; great grandchildren, Austin and Sofia Winslow, Levi Holder and Madeline Clifton; a sister, Glenda Gordon; a sister-in-law, Betty Easter, and many wonderful friends and neighbors. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by her husband, Shade M. Franklin; a daughter, Sandra Hiatt; a grandson, Michael Money and a brother, Fred Easter. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Sechrist and Rev. Russell Vass officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
