Mrs. Mary Hazelwood Hazelwood

Mrs. Mary Becky "Katie" Hazelwood Hazelwood passed away peacefully on Tuesday. December 2, 2014 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Forsyth County on June 22, 1941 to the late Coy and Vora Childress Hazelwood. Mrs. Hazelwood was a homemaker and a member of Second Chance Church. Those left to cherish her memory are four daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Domingo Gonzalez, Diana and Jose Resendiz, all of Sparta, Patricia and Mario Resendiz and Johnnie and David Guynn, all of Mount Airy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Danny and Christi Hazelwood and Cristobal Ruiz all of Mount Airy; ten grandchildren; thirty seven great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Edward Prim of East Bend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded indeath by a daughter, Darlene Hazelwood; a sister, Myrtle Tilley and a brother, Billy Hazelwood. A memorial graveside service will be held at 3 pm on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church cemetery by the Rev. Jerry King and the Rev. Terry Coe. The family will receive friends at the home of her granddaughter, Tania Govea, 147 New Cedar Lane, Mount Airy, NC 27030. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Hazelwood Memorial Fund c/o Moody-Davis Funeral Home PO Box 295, Dobson, NC 27017 to assist the family with final expenses.
