Mrs. Mary Bet Moseley Hudson

Mrs. Mary Bet Moseley Hudson, 87 of Dobson passed Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born in Surry County on March 4, 1927 to the late John and Ollie Johnson Moseley. Mrs. Hudson graduated from Copeland High School and Draughon's Business College in Winston Salem. She worked at Hennis Freight Lines and the Surry County Extension Office. She was a member of Double Creek Church of Christ and also a member of the Eastern Star Copeland Chapter. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by first husband, Phillip Daniel Layne and her second husband, Page J. Hudson; a step son, Keith Hudson; a sister, Eva Ann Harper and a brother, Wayne Moseley. Mrs. Hudson is survived by one daughter, Ava Bowman and husband, Tim; a sister, Janice Moseley Sawyers and husband, James; granddaughter, Alayne Bowman Justice; step daughter, Mary Standifur; step grandchildren, Rylan Bennett, Kody Hudson, Luke Hudson, Haley Hudson; a step daughter-in-law, Martha Hudson and a sister-in-law, Janice Harris and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 28, 2014 at Double Creek Church of Christ with Pastor Bob Parrish and Pastor Roger Sickmiller. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM and at other times at the home of Ava and Tim Bowman. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Double Creek Church of Christ, Building Fund, 674 Double Creek Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
