Mrs. Mary Pauline Pilson King

Mrs. Mary Pauline Pilson King, age 86 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011 at her home. She was born in Patrick County on July 25, 1924 to the late Riley Pilson and Hattie Ruth Goode Pilson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Richard King, Sr.; one son, Ray Allen King; one daughter, Darlene K. Martin; one brother, Leonard Green Pilson; and four sisters, Ruth Tatum, Lowell Koger, Betty Jo Pilson and Bobbi Jean Pilson. She was a member of Fresh Harvest Christian Church and attended the First Christian Church.
Mrs. King is survived by two daughters, Barbara Houchins of Stuart and Shirley K. Hodge of Martinsville; four sons, Richard King, Jr. of Stuart, Larry G. King of Martinsville, Benny L. King of Stuart and Lawrence S. King of Stuart; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; one brother, William Oneal Pilson of Yonkers, New York; and one sister, Judy L. Nowlin of Yonkers, New York.
Funeral services for Mrs. King will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Minister Benny King officiating. Burial will follow in the West Liberty Church Cemetery.
