Mrs. Mary Frances Johnson Reece, widow of Delano Roosevelt Reece went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. She was the last of five children, born to the late Yancy and Laura Draughn Johnson. Mrs. Reece was a self employed day care provider and a faithful member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Marty and Amy Reece of Dobson and a daughter, Sheila Handy; five beloved grandchildren Jacob Stevens, Austin Stevens, Noah Reece, Cole Reece and Bryson Handy; two great-grandchildren, Jaysey Reece and Alex Reece. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Mount Hermon Baptist Church by the Rev. Marty Reece and the Rev. Larry Stone. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Moody-Davis Funeral Home where she will remain until time to be carried to the church to lie-in-state thirty minutes prior to the service. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Dunmore Plantation for their loving and compassionate care.
