Mrs. Mary Bell McKamey Rorrer

Mrs. Mary Bell McKamey Rorrer, age 87 of Patrick Springs, passed away November 20, 2015 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart, Virginia. She was born in Patrick County on September 5, 1928 to the late Samuel H. and Rhoda Frazier McKamey. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rorrer was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Curtis Rorrer Sr.; her grandson, Scott Cassady; a sister, Edith Craddock and three brothers, Earl, Edgar and Richard Mckamey. Mary was a member of Providence United Methodist Church in Patrick Springs, and was retired with over 30 years of service from E.I. DuPont. She had volunteered for many years at the nursing home and with the Red Cross.

She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister to the following survivors, daughters, Kay Turner; Sharon and Rayvone Cassady; Sandra and H.E. Nelson; and son, Sam and Brenda Rorrer, all of Patrick Springs; sister, Helen Taylor of Stuart; two grandsons, Tim Turner and Curt Rorrer; four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jaxon Turner; and Fiona and Sabrina Rorrer; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 23, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church, with Pastors Keith Vernon and David Schill officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the church, and at other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Providence United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1021 Providence Dr., Patrick Springs, VA, 24133.
