Mrs. Mary Estelle Corder Vernon

Mrs. Mary Estelle Vernon, age 92, of Dobson passed away, Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Vernon was born January 20, 1923 in Surry County to the late Grady Clifton Corder and the late Cora Lee Corder. She was a retired homemaker and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jesse Albert Vernon.
Mrs. Vernon is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law; Darrell and Marie Vernon of State Road, Wilford and Gail Vernon of Dobson, and Bill and Karen Vernon of Lake Norman; three grandchildren Scott Vernon, Tracy Bullins and Jayne Morgan; Four great grandchildren, Lauryn Morgan, Cameron Morgan, Connor Vernon and Colbie Vernon; two special nieces, Wanda Croom and Jean Branch.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 1-2 PM at Fairview Baptist Church. The Funeral will follow at 2:00 PM at the church with Dr. Blue Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, 7659 NC 268, Dobson, NC 27017.
