Mrs. Mary Ruth Hodge Walden, age 78 of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Walden was born in Surry County on December 15, 1935 to Dewey and Nell Holyfield Hodge. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. Surviving is her devoted son, Joseph Walden Peacock and girlfriend Monica Belt; a grandson, Justin Walden and a sister, Carol McCree. There will not be a formal service or visitation.
