Mrs. Mary Lee Bobbit Wood

Mrs. Mary Lee Bobbit Wood, age 82 of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at her home. She was born in Galax on August 9, 1932 to the late Anderson A. and Rosa Mae Weatherman Bobbit. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Eden Wood; three brothers, Jack, John and Joe Bobbit; and one sister, Dell Quesinberry. She retired as a thrift store manager of Flowers Bakery and was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Mrs. Wood is survived by one son, Anthony E. Wood of Lynchburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rose Mary W. and Gordon Lancaster of Bent Mountain, Eva Rae W. and Justin Henderson of Lynchburg; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Imogene and Bob Bowers and Sue Mabe, all of Woodlawn.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Shawn Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
