Mrs. Melissa McMillian Bowman

Mrs. Melissa Dawn McMillian Bowman, age 44 of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Bowman was born in Surry County on December 7, 1969 to Rosie Alice Linville Ferguson and the late Haskell McMillian. She was a loving wife, mother and sister who will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Surviving are her devoted husband, Tony Bowman; a daughter, Christan Bowman; a son, John Dexter Bowman and girlfriend, Amber Clark; her mother and step father, Rosie and Thomas Ferguson; a sister, Sandra Felts and brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Peggy McMillian and Mike and Sandy McMillian. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Shining Light Baptist Church by Rev. Elmo Hiatt and Rev. John Toliver. Burial will follow in the Semones Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home. Mrs. Bowman will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service.
