Mrs. Mildred Marie "Mick" Puckett Felts, age 88 of Dobson passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on July 25, 1926 to the late Ray Stone and Nora Gunnell Puckett. Mrs. Felts was retired from Spencer's Incorporated and was of the Baptist faith. Left to cherish her memories, are her loving and devoted daughter, Ellen Rogers of Dobson and fiancé Larry Law, of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, Mickey and wife Marcia Rogers, of Mount Airy and Jason "Jake" Rogers and fiancé Whittney Anthony, of Mount Airy; six great-grandchildren, Destiny Frye, Gracie Rogers, Daven Davis, Brady Davis, Cheyenne Rogers and Luke Rogers; many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Felts was preceded in death by husband, Vauda Lawrence Felts; a sister, Frances Hall and a brother, Douglas Puckett. Funeral services will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, August 31, 2014 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home of Dobson by Pastor Mickey Rogers, with burial to follow in the Gunnell Family Cemetery in Ararat, Virginia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2 pm until the hour of the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, in memory of Mrs. Felts, 945 Zephyr Road Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of the Woltz Hospice Home, and to Dr. Roger Kerley for their loving and compassionate care.
