Mrs. Mildred Frances McHone

Mrs. Mildred Frances McHone, 93 of Mt. Airy passed away at her home surrounded by her family Wednesday, September 17, 2014. She was born in Surry County on May 11, 1921 to the late Clayton and Julie Gravley Hall. Mrs. McHone retired from Quality Mills and was of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Jackie Wood; a son and daughter-in-law, Foy McHone, Jr. and Susan; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McHone was preceded in death by her husband, Foy McHone, Sr.; a daughter, Mildred Watson; a son, Ronnie McHone; five sisters, Margie Johnson, Mary Hall, Dot Payne, Irene Smith and Ollie Matthews and one brother, Oscar Hall. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Slate officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
